New York City: At Salon 94, in The Wood Room, lined with custom mahogany panels and currently home to an exhibition of Jaiik Lee’s vessels, we inaugurated Jeremy Liebman’s debut photobook Coincidence with a photographic exhibition of the work itself.
Shot between 2020 and 2025, Coincidence unfolds as an intimate and unguarded black-and-white family portrait. In it, Jeremy turns his lens inward, tracing the quiet, uncanny paths of his own life: his father’s gradual slipping from reality, parallel to his children tightening their grip on the world around them. Celebrating the book in New York felt essential—on his home turf, after a decade of friendship and collaboration, and following 16 features he photographed for Apartamento magazine. Salon 94, owned by Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn—also part of the Apartamento world, featured in issue #18 (become a member and unlock access to Jeanne’s interview!)—made for an ideal backdrop for the evening.
